Frequently Asked Questions

Can I claim a deduction for my equipment?

As a donor, you’ll receive a receipt stating your equipment received for deduction for the donated equipment. The sale of the equipment is in direct furtherance of its charitable purpose of relieving the poor, distressed and/or underprivileged, and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. The fair market value deduction, determined by the donor or via an appraisal, is eligible to be included on the individual’s Form 1040 (U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, Schedule A – Itemized Deductions) as a charitable contribution. There are limitations on charitable contribution deductions; therefore, we advise all donors to consult their tax advisor when discussing their specific tax situation.

Do I have to choose from a selected list of charities?

No. That’s your advantage. We give you a choice. You can designate which charity you want the proceeds of the sale of your equipment to go. We sell or contract with equipment management companies to sell the donated items, then convert it to cash to directly assist the supported ministries you can find below or your designated non-profit. We will endeavor to honor your requests to donate all, or a portion of, your net proceeds to an approved, not for profit/501c3 organization you have a heart and passion to support. This could be your local church, national organization, veterans group, or educational facility.

Do you take other items besides medical/dental/opthalmology/vet equipment?

Yes. Please contact us for more details.

Do you partner with a primary tax deductible organization?

Yes. Haiti Vision 3, Inc is a non-profit, and is able to receive donated items and issue a tax-deductible donation receipt.
